Meet DeDe
Storyteller. Adventurer. Creative Director. Professional "Yes" Person.
"I don't collect passport stamps. I collect stories."
There are two things you'll learn about me pretty quickly.
First, I'm endlessly curious.
Second, if there's an adventure involved, there's a good chance I'm already packing my bags.
I've never believed travel is about checking destinations off a list. For me, it's always been about the stories hidden beneath the surface—the conversations with strangers, the restaurants only locals know about, the roar of a championship crowd, the quiet stillness beneath the ocean, and the moments that stay with you long after you've unpacked your suitcase.
Those are the stories that change us. Those are the stories I love to tell.
A Life Built on Stories
Long before House of Hardeman existed, I was already chasing stories.
As an actress, screenwriter, producer, and creative director, I've had the opportunity to work on national commercials, major film productions, independent films, and projects that have taken me across the country and around the world.
Over the years, my career has evolved in ways I never could have imagined.
I've become a bestselling author, a public speaker, a film festival founder, a nonprofit leader, and a travel creator—all connected by one purpose:
To create stories that inspire people to see the world, and themselves, a little differently.
Because whether I'm standing on a movie set or standing on the edge of a cliff getting ready to dive into the ocean...
I'm still telling stories.
Why Water?
Water changed my life. People often ask me why so much of my life revolves around the water.
The truth is...It wasn't always that way.
Like many people, I had fears, insecurities, and moments where life felt loud. Between the constant pressure to achieve, the noise of everyday life, and carrying the weight of responsibilities, I was searching for something that could quiet my mind.
I found it beneath the surface. Water became more than a place to swim. It became a place to breathe.
Freediving taught me something that the quality of my breath often determined the quality of my experience. The slower I breathed, the calmer I became. The calmer I became, the longer I could stay present.
And the more present I became, the more I realized that many of the lessons I was learning underwater applied just as much to life above the surface.
The ocean doesn't respond to panic. It responds to patience. Every dive became a reminder that I couldn't control everything around me, but I could learn to regulate how I responded.
That lesson changed me. Water taught me how to slow down. How to be present. How to listen to my body. How to respect fear without allowing it to make my decisions.
It gave me confidence I didn't know I was capable of finding. Today, whether I'm freediving, scuba diving, swimming in a mermaid tail, or simply floating in silence, the water remains one of the places where I feel most connected—to myself, to nature, and to the present moment.
It's also why so much of my work now centers around helping others discover that same sense of confidence and possibility. Not because everyone needs to become a diver.
But because everyone deserves the opportunity to experience what happens when they take a deep breath, step outside their comfort zone, and realize they are capable of more than they imagined.
For me... The water didn't just change how I travel.
It changed how I live.
House of Hardeman
House of Hardeman was created because I realized I wasn't just creating travel content. I was creating experiences.
Today, House of Hardeman partners with destinations, hotels, tourism boards, sports organizations, and brands to transform unforgettable places into cinematic Story Worlds.
Our work blends travel, sports, culture, water, humor, and authentic human connection to create content that inspires people to explore farther, dream bigger, and experience the world with curiosity.
Every destination has a story. I'm simply honored to help tell it.
Looking Ahead
The next chapter is about building experiences that inspire confidence.
Through House of Hardeman, Mermaid RayShell, Crown & Fin, Salt & Soul, Water Stories, Dirty Stove Productions, and Un-Hushed, I'm creating experiences that encourage people to embrace adventure, connect with one another, and discover the beauty that exists both above and beneath the surface.
Because I believe the best stories don't just take us somewhere new. They transform us along the way.
